I received this email yesterday from Medina Tea Party Patriots but due to being in surgery was unable to get it out in time. Please considering calling this morning as soon as possible. Also please remember that this is the same education committee that refused to pass Andy Thompson’s bill to repeal Common Core out of committee to the full house.
Tomorrow morning (12/9/14) the Ohio House Education Committee is meeting to hear SB 96, the World History Bill. Sponsored by Ohio Senator Frank LaRose, this bill is being promoted by the Progressive group Ohio Council for Social Studies. Senator LaRose has become a huge disappointment to Conservatives across the state, continuing to do the governor’s bidding at every turn.
If the World History Bill passes it will likely compete directly with the Founding Documents Bill. As you know, Chris Long, president of Ohio Christian Alliance, worked with Conservatives in the Ohio House and Senate for a very long time to get the Founding Documents Bill passed into law. Chris now fears that passage of the World History Bill will also be a way to backdoor Common Core into the social studies curriculum in our schools.
The House Education Committee is meeting tomorrow morning (Tuesday, December 9th). Please call and leave voicemails and also email the members of the House on the committee.
